While you’re getting dressed for work tomorrow morning or gulping down your corn flakes in front of the TV, flip over to NBC’s Today Show at 8:00 to learn what buySAFE is doing to make e-commerce safer and more efficient for consumers, merchants and marketplaces.
Last week, Today Show consumer reporter Janice Lieberman spent the day at buySAFE headquarters interviewing me for a piece about the prevalence of counterfeit luxury goods being sold online. As we’ve written about extensively in this blog, designer brands are being counterfeited at alarming rate, with counterfeit goods accounting for $600 billion in sales annually by some estimates. In the course of the interview, Janice and I talked about this problem and how it manifests itself, and looked at a number of examples of counterfeit merchandise that we purchased online that was purported to be real.
With counterfeit merchandise often nearly indistinguishable from the real thing, the only way to truly protect yourself as a consumer is to buy from a reputable seller. But how do you know who’s reputable? By looking for a third-party endorsement from buySAFE, the only company that will actually guarantee a safe, trusted transaction.
See for yourself. Tune in the Today Show tomorrow, March 20th at 8:00 a.m. to learn more about what buySAFE is doing to combat this growing problem.
Update: You can view the Today Show clip here.
Congratulations on the publicity. We will keep your service in mind if we choose to sell branded merchandise down the road. Best Regards.
